Keith Ellis, is beginning his 28th year of coaching. He began coaching after a small stint playing in the NFL. Keith played at Crenshaw High School where he received a scholarship to play football at the University of New Mexico. He was taken in the 1979 draft by the Washington Redskins, and finished his playing career with the Los Angeles Rams.
He started coaching in 1983, and has coached High School, Junior College, and at the Division "1" level. Keith is a coach that motivates and teaches his players to play smart and to play hard with an emphasis on details. He is very optimistic and excited about the up and coming season with the "Gladiators".
Keith believes that responsibility, respect, fairness, trustworthiness, caring, and citizenship are lifetime values that are taught through athletics, and these are the principles of good sportsmanship. With them, the spirit of competition thrives, fueled by honest rivalry, courteous relations, and graceful acceptance of the results.
